Water
Plant:
Water Resources Department is responsible for The Treatment of
Drinking Water and the Distribution of Quality Water to
approximately 2366 Customers 365 days a year. The Jonesville
Water Treatment, built in the 1960’s is part of the Pee Dee River
basin. Source water is pulled from the Yadkin River by a raw
water intake into an 8 million gallon reservoir. Water from there
is Gravity fed to a conventional style filtration plant. The
Jonesville Water Plant is a B-Surface Water Treatment Facility and
the capacity is 518,400 mgd. Average daily demand is approximately
377,000 mgd and storage within the system is 1.5 million gallons.
There are 50 miles of Distribution lines within the system along
with a 12.5 mile line serving the 421/77 area.
There are Five Certified Water Plant Operators, Three Certified
Distribution Operators and a C-Well Operator on Staff.

Sewer Plant:
The Jonesville WWTP is Grade II activated Sludge conventional
facility with a permitted capacity of .400 mgd. Average Flow to the
plant is .236 mgd. There are approximately 30 miles of sewer lines
in the system and seven Pumping stations that are maintained daily.
Operations of this Facility will be taken over in the future by the
Yadkin Valley Sewer Authority and Jonesville’s WWTP will be
decommissioned.
